Once in a year

Little Mike says that if you haven't the looks for these holidays yet, ¡you are in late!. But be calm, Mickeys; if that's your case, you're still in time to prepare something and don't get into fast (and usually not so clever) last minute decisions.

The best for this year is to escape from total black looks. It is still soon for been influenced by minimal 90's wave that will come.

For hims, an option to not fall into monochromy is a suit with contrast lapels and details. The safe bet is grey. An advice: the lighter the skin tone, the lighter the grey tone (in doubt case, with halfway shadows you'll never fail). To light up the outfit, a little bit of color in shirt and accessories, but without going too far (Little Mike suggests burgundy and ink blue). And taking advantage from the retro wave, you will not be unforgivable if you don't wear oxfords, brogues, loafers... And if you want make the difference, bow tie instead tie.

 For those who are suit allergics (Little Mike will never understand that ponit...), or if the occasion will be less formal, the trend is to opt for a fitted leather jacket (beware! no biker style, we left that for streetstyle) and if it is with quilted details, so much the better.. A flecked cardigan, plain shirt and woolen pants or kakhis (we can left denim just for one night). Indispensable a tie and dressed footwear to achieve a formal look. The color range red-black-white is always a winner, and if you are more audacious, you can add one more color on accessories.

Talking about the girls, to mix textures and lengths is a smart and at the same time modern option. The "leather-lace- smooth fabric" can help with achieving a red carpet look. Little Mike isn't that kind of fan of "short in front- full length on back" but it would be a confortable option to fire the dance floor and set the difference with another party night. Indispensable pumps with some detail.

For those who comfort is more important, you can choose a masculine outfit with a feminine touch. Anckle length trousers with turn-up and darts, and a basic shirt (you can find both in your every day wardrobe) will give you the ground. To give the party-effect, a sequined loose jacket. As accessories, bow tie, hat and a folder-style purse. The icing on the cake, retro shoes trends has reached the women's wardrobe, so don't hesitate to complete the outfit with oxfords, bluchers... (No heels problems!)

Little Mike says that there's no better season to wear in style.

Miguelín dice que si aún no tienes tus looks preparados para estas fiestas, ¡ya vas tarde!. Pero tranquilos, Mickeys; si ese es vuestro caso, todavía estais a tiempo de preparar algo y no dejaros llevar por las decisiones rápidas (y normalmente poco acertadas) de última hora.

Lo mejor este año es huir del total look en negro. Todavía es pronto para dejarse arrastrar por la ola minimal de los 90's que se avecina.

Para ellos, una opción para no caer en la monocromía es un traje con solapas y detalles a contraste. La opción más segura es el gris. Un consejo. cuanto más claro el tono de piel, más claro el tono de gris (en caso de duda con los tonos intermedios nunca fallarás). Para subir el conjunto, un poco de color en camisa y complementos, pero sin pasarnos de la raya (Miguelín propone un burdeos y azul tinta). Y aprovechando la ola retro, no tendreis perdón si no lleváis unos zapatos oxford, brogues, mocasín... Y si queréis el toque diferente, pajarita en lugar de corbata.

Para aquellos que tengan alergia a los trajes (cosa que Miguelín nunca entenderá...), o en las que la celebración sea de un tono más informal, la tendencia es optar por una cazadora de piel (¡ojo! nada de estilo motero, eso lo dejamos para el streetwear) de corte entallado y si es con detalles acolchados, mejor que mejor. Un cárdigan de punto jaspeado, camisa lisa y unos pantalones de lana o chinos (por una noche podemos dejar el denim a un lado). Imprescindible la corbata y calzado de vestir para que el conjunto resulte arreglado. La gama de color de rojo- negro-blanco es siempre un caballo ganador, y si sois un poco más osados, podeis añadir otro color a los complementos.

En lo que a ellas se refiere, una opción elegante y moderna a la vez es jugar con texturas y largos. La combinación piel-encaje-tejido fluido puede ayudar a conseguir un look de alfombra roja. Miguelín no es muy fan de los "cortos delante - largos detrás" pero puede resultar una opción muy cómoda a la hora de quemar la pista y marcar la diferencia con cualquier otra noche de marcha. Imprescindibles zapatos con detalles de algún tipo.

Para las que la comodidad es una prioridad, podeis optar por un estilo masculino con toque femenino. Unos pantalones de pinzas de largo tobillero con vuelta y una camisa básica (ambos los podeis rescatar de vuestro armario habitual) os servirán de base. Para añadir el toque festivo, una chaqueta holgada de lentejuelas. Y como complementos, pajarita, sombrero y bolso de mano tipo sobre. Como guinda del pastel, la moda del zapato retro se ha introducido también en el armario femenino, así que no dudeis en completar el look con unos oxford o unos bluchers (¡no habrá problemas con los tacones!)

Miguelín dice que no hay mejor época en el año para vestirse con estilo.
